how would you complete the story?

a middle-aged man finds himself single and, while sorting old boxes, finds a precious memento of a French ex-girlfriend from many moons ago. He travels to France to see if he can discreetly find her to return the piece of jewellery and, well, to see what happens. How would you progress this story?

She is wearing the other half of the little silver heart that he has in his hand....she always knew he would come looking for her....their eyes meet....and they fall into each others arms.....*awww*...

He had never forgotten her, her long legs, full and shapely breasts and that silk off the shoulder patterned, colourful blouse that she wore on many sunny evening. There always was and always has been only one love in his life and he was devastated when he found out that she was dating someone else. He constantly remembered the long walks that they would take, the corn fields in which they both lost their virginities, and he wondered what had happened to her�..was she married, was she happy and had life been good to her?

Yes, he had found the piece of jewelry, but now , how would one go about finding her?

The middle aged man is farewelled from the RSA by his old army buddies from the Second World War & he rides a taxi to the airport. On the flight over to France he regales the comely stewardesses of how he met & fell in love with her & it brings a tear to their eyes.

He alights from the plane & buys a dozen red roses, then rides another taxi to the lady's last known address.

He stands on the front doorstep, rearranges his tie, takes a deep breath & remembers how absolutely beautiful she was.

The door is answered................
............by an ugly, toothless, hump-backed crone!

How she's changed. So he says sorry - he got the wrong address & goes on his way.

But he's not put off by this . He remembers the OTHER piece of jewelery he was given by the OTHER ex-girlfriend. This one is Italy!

And if THAT one doesn't pan out, then there's Greece, North Africa, the Pacific........................

He finds her in a secluded chateau, longing for the days she could be back with the love of her life, you see she has never moved on from this love & has lived a lonely existance since she lost him. As he thought, she was thinking that he had moved on & was happily married with lots of beautiful children, but no, they were meant to be together. When their eyes met, the love of many years came flooding back, they fell into each others arms, made love & lived happily ever after, like they had never been apart.

He eventually tracks her down and finds to his disappointment that she is now several stone heavier than she was when he knew her, she has forgotten all her English and he has forgotten all his French so that any sensible or romantic conversation is impossible, and he wonders what on earth he saw in her. And she looks at his receding hairline and beer belly and thinks "Mon Dieu, how can I escape this dinner early without offending him?.
