Does anyone know if any of the high street opticians are offering free eye tests at the moment?
Thanks

You are entitled to free (NHS) examinations if:
- you are under 16 or under 19 and in FT education
- you are over 60
-you claim certain benefits such as Job seekers allowance, income support, family tax credit, pension credit guarentee
-you are diabetic
you or a close relative has glaucoma
However, a free eye test may be one that gets you through the door in order to buy glasses whether necessary or not. The test may be rushed in order to get the volume of people to a maximum.
Eye examinations cost about 20 and when you compare this to other services such as having an MOT or a haircut is pretty cheap when it's something that is done normally every two years. Go to an optician that a friend or family would recommend.
