I am on the horns of a dilemma. Spent a lovely evening with an adorable French man last week whilst on holiday on my own at the hotel.
Have sinced moved in with the out-laws at their home with the children.. and have received a text from aforementioned adorable Frenchman asking to take me out...
What do I tell the out-laws...? do I go..? or shall I pretend I'm off out with the girlfriend I met last week (passage of least resistance, but blatant lie as she left the island yesterday)....
any comments would be appreciated...
(PS for the record.. my ex-husband told me that I should find someone ... this is obviously only a holiday fling-ette as he lives in Paris and I'm UK...)
awhhh, hh, bless! how do you think they'll react to the truth? would the kids mind?
if it's really short term (and you're not going to do this every evening for the next week!) a little fib won't do any harm. otherwise, tell the truth.
Thanks sara and sqad.. re you're last comment.. it'd be rude not to!! ;-)
I might tell the out lasws I'm going out as part of a group... I have been regaling them with stories from my antics from last week, so it's not unfeasible that we could go out in a group.... is that the desperate noise of straws being clutched at I hear...
Could you not just say a male friend is taking you out for dinner? They may raise a couple of eyebrows but that would be it as it's not really their business. Just omit the bit about finding him adorable!
