this might be one for squad.

i have asthma and often get wheezy coughs or just get wheezy at night time.

more often than not when i am wheezy, i get an internal itch just below my right armpit and no matter how much i scratch it won't go away because it fels like it is inside me. My inhaler does normaly stop it but its just wierd and probly not normal to get it in the first place.

what is it? and why do i get it? and how common is it?

by the way if this helps (i don't know how it would but it might), i have a blue inhaler and a family history of asthma but non of them have had this 'internal itch'

Very odd....which inhaler are you using?
Question Author
i use a blue ventolin its the only one i have.
mollykins...sorry.....nothing comes to mind.
Question Author
should i be concerned?

my mum thinks i should go to the doctor but dad thinks it would be a waste of time.
Question Author
for the doctor and pointless and we probly wouldn't find anything out or be cured.
molly.....no, you should not be concerned.

Yes, see your GP as he could put your mind at rest and possibly arrange a check chest X-ray.
Question Author
thanks.

i assume from your posts in the thread and others that you are/were of a medical profession?

have you seen or heard of this before?

by the way, it is always in the same spot, on my right armpit.
molly.....never seen it or heard of it before.
So the question is, "Should I either see a doctor or follow the advice from people I don't know on a random non-medical website?"

Tricky one.....
Question Author
well my question was is it common? what is it? and why?
The doctor wil be able to tell you that.
another-view.

Let me let you into a little secret shall I?

According to past posts and according to advice or lack of it after seeing their GP.s I would certainly put my money on this web.

I have seen excellent answers given, that could only be given by medically qualified people.
I suffer from periods of lower back pain and sciatica.

Often in the early stages I get an itch on the skin of my lower back.

It is probably a bit like a 'referred pain' where the brain feels something in one place while the cause is actually somewhere else.

i just remembered that i've had two xrays in the past 13 months if i go soon aren't they going to be reluctant to do an xray for something which is probably quite trivial?

plus i'm going to see yet another doctor about my mystery foot in a couple of weeks who will probly send me for an xray.
What's wrong with your foot? I only ask because I have a dodgy foot. My OH calls me club foot :-(
Question Author
its a mystery i must have seen at least 5 doctors about it and they've got about 5 different diagnoses but non are entirely sure of what they are saying.
I hurt my foot about 5 years ago now and the swelling has never gone down. Don't know why...it doesn't hurt to touch. Pain in the bum when it comes to shoes though.
Question Author
squad, care for a guess?

i hurt my foot iceskating 2 and a bit years ago.

it hurt for a few days maybe a couple of weeks then was ok.

a couple of months later we had to do long distance running in pe and it started hurting. i also notice that i couldn't move my two littlest toes properly (i can move them up and down but not spread them out) and the pain is along a tendon or bones ( its kind of swollen)

and from then on, my foot hurts along those bones/ tendon or whatever it is, if i walk more than a few hundred metres.

but every few months it changes, to hurting more or not going as far before it hurts.

but now it sometimes randomly hurts if i'm sat down or in bed ect.

and once i had a dream i was playing football and i took a penalty shot and i woke up from a pain because i think i moved my foot in real life in a wierd way. plus i never found out if i scored.

plus i have insoles which don't seem to do anything.

plus my little toes hurt if i walk to much (probly because they're not as flexible)

feel free to have a guess many doctor already have and many more probly will.
molly...5 doctors all confused. Reasons:
1) Because it is unusual
2) Because it is not life threatening
3) Because all investigations draw a blank
4) Because they don't know...medicine is not an exact science.

That seems to say it all.
Question Author
but what would you guess? or is there a couple of things that togewther create this abnormal thing?
