Becoming Homeless.

I'm asking this on behalf of my friend who doesn't have internet access.

She lives with her boyfriend in his house. She has two kids from a previous relationship 6 and 8. She has no family in town. She wants to leave as he's constantly putting presure on her. As in 'his house, his rules, do as you're told'

Anyway.....what she wants to know is how does she declare herself homeless? What is the procedure?

She could go to the council housing office and tell them her relationship has broken down and she needs to leave the current residence as it is her ex partners home.They may put her in emergency housing and put her name on the waiting list.She could also look into getting her name on housing association waiting lists.
