You've got a job in an operating theatre with 'no' experience or qualifications to do the job. Well I must admit, that leaves one with no end of confidence in our NHS. What hospital will you be working at? I'll be sure not to have an accident near by!!
Happytohelp: I always say research on the company, print of details and take them with you, shows you are motivated and forward planning/thinking. Never say anything negative about yourself. Always turn a negative into a positive. Don't say a negative like 'you can't get up in the morning', say 'you need to learn to delegate more as you take too much on' or ' that you are perhaps too organised' etc. Try and pre-plan answers to questions (although this sometimes comes with practice and interview experience). Always be polite and sit up straight with eye contact. Don't waffle, be direct. Give examples too. Websites like www.adecco.co.uk or www.workthing.com can help you with interview technique. It really comes down to how much you want the job. Although I often think that if they don't choose me, it's their lost. Gives you more self esteem and an air of confidence for the interview! Good luck.
Good luck. Make sure you are dressed smartly but comfortably. There is nothing worse than going for an interview and feeling uncomfortable. Make eye contact, use a firm handshake (not a bone breaker though) and smile on introduction.
SG Kelloe. Congratulations on your new job. What can you do in an operating theatre that doesn't rely on experience? I am really interested. I am presuming you are not going straight in as a surgeon and a nurse!
When they ask what you think are your weaknesses, never say that you don't have any. Everyone does, even if they don't like to admit it. All interviews I have had seem to aske questions that relate directly to my last job, such as 'give an example of when you have had to work as a team to somplete a task' or similar, so always prepare some examples and make notes, most interviewers sdon't mind if you refer to notes (as long as you are not reading the answer word for word!)
Good Luck
