You get a letter for a smear test. Last I heard there was a backlog of up to six weeks on letters but I suppose this could depend on where you are. If in doubt, call your GP and find out what the time span is.

If you went to a walk in clinic then again, call them, find out the turn around time.

i know i havent really...just i done some work in the family plannin clinic....and u can do this self swab thingy for std's...im not at risk of any as far as im aware!!! (lol!!) but i thought oh well im here now and done one and never heard,,, the more i thnk about it im like thinking i should really get and c the results!! i suppose u can never b too carefull now!! xx
