Lots of guys want to be hairier when they are young to get a more masculine mature look.
I knew guys who were shaving before they started high school and by the time they left school they were getting an 11 AM shadow. One guy could grow a full beard in a week.
But a few years later the clumps of hair growing out of their ears and nose were a major hassle.

I wasn't hairy when I was young and now at 50 I'm glad because I had to deal with enough of this myself.
