Hi

which part of the egg is better for you is it the yolk or the egg white??

Explain what you mean by "better for you"
Most of an egg's nutrients are in the yolk although there's slightly more protein in the white.

just eat all of it :o)

i thought one part of it was not as healthy for you i thought it was the yolk as it had too much fat or something in it! And that if you ate the other bit it was alot better for you!

The yolk is full of cholesterol.
The white has very little, if any.
They do seem to have changed there mind a bit about eggs recently saying the yolk isn't as bad as first thought...
Also in health mags and fitness Internet sites the yolk can help you lose weight only 1 yolk a day.
If you eat only 1 egg yolk a day you will certainly lose weight. Such extreme dieting is not a good idea though.

No Body is stupid enough to just eat an egg yolk i meant part of a calorie controlled diet.....

That's because you are believing what you read and see in the papers...
I don't believe much what i read and the pic,s i see in the papers i see a couple of TV stars in the gym and all i can say there not that thin in the gym but are in the papers..

It is true that the yolk contains a lot of cholestorol.

However they now find that most cholesterol in your blood is fabricated by your body, and only a little comes from dietary cholestorol.
The egg yolk is designed to provide all the neutrient needed by the chick as it develops in the albumen (which is like embriotic fluid and protects the chick.
As the chick grows the yolk will be used up as will most of the fluid, then the chick will chovell it's way out....
