For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I found I only used to suffer the spins (which, for me, wasn't "spinning" as such but the whole room dropping away to the bottom of the bed repeatedly and with increasing speed until my eyes, trying to keep up, were so far up into their sockets that I could have read the washing instructions on my own brain) if my face was upwards. I know that's a strange way to word it but I'm not usually one for sleeping on my back. Nevertheless, after a good few I found this was the obvious way to lie.
So, I lay on my back but with my head well and truly to one side.
To answer cardboard's original question, I think all the palaver of developing techniques to avoid it means you employ them now automatically and, so, never experience it.
