this story really saddened me (the gerrman goalkeeper who committed suicide)
is this further proof that money and success , is not the be all and end all and more to the point health and wellbeing are much more important??
And also is depression on the rise amongst men with the recession the way it is....

It is terribly sad, but hopefully someone will tell his family and friends that they couldn't save him.
So often, the people close to a suicide berate themselves for not 'noticing the signs' or because he 'didn't come to them'.
The fact is, to be that desparate to end the pain, the notion of help, or reaching out, or thinking of loved ones, has simply gone from the mind, all that is left is the thought of release, of no more pain, no more suffering, no more anything.
That is the state a suicide reaches, and when you are there, death looks like a blessed answer to be embraced with open arms.
Health is everything, mental health especially. Isolation is the worst feeling ever. Sadly, but blessedly, this poor man is no longer suffering.
