Apart from Arnica cream, is there anything to make bruises go away more quickly.
I have a *horrble* bruise on my leg and it's been there for a week and it's still red/purple although it doesn't hurt anymore. Arnica only seems to work for me when I put it on immediatly when i've had a knock, so is there anything else you recommend?

I'm a fan of distilled witchhazel too. It is absolutely fabulous. I use it when I have bumps and bruises (even plukes) and whenever my dog has injuries. I first used it many years ago when I was a student. I was working as a barmaid in a cocktail bar. One of the barmen spilt some drink behind the bar and I didn't see it. I went head over heels, landed on some metal beer kegs and some glasses. I was wearing a suzi wong type dress and stilettoes. The split in the dress ripped right up to my waist. I was more aware of my embarrassment to start with but the next day I had horrific bruises over one arm, one leg and the whole of my bum. The chemist recommeded witchhazel. I drowned the bruises in the stuff and I was amazed. The pain subsided very quickly and the bruises had gone completely within 4 days. I wouldn't be without it now.
