If it is at stage 1 or 2 then yes it is possible to recover from it.My dad died of colon cancer earlier this year but his was at stage 4 so there was no chance of a cure.

I would like to know who told your friend it was caused by not eating?? Also as others have said it depends on the type/grade and stage.

Believe me it is curable. 10 Years ago I was diagnosed with colon cancer (I was told it was probably due to poor diet) I wasn't told what stage I was at but I was told on the Friday and I was in the operating theatre the following Tuesday.. I was told they could feel the tumour in the colon therefore they cut it out and stapled the pieces of colon back together (a bit like an obstruction in a hose pipe) I was very ill for a couple of weeks but came through with just a couple of Hiccups on the way but here I am today 10 years later as fit & normal as I'll ever be.

Sorry if I seemed terse narutoguy, I understand what you mean. It touched a nerve as mylate husbands colon cancer went undiagnosed despite his reporting all the main symptoms and ended up in an emergency operation to remove. He too had chemotherapy, but unfortunately due to the late diagnosis, he already had secondaries.

However as Aunty Jem says there is always hope and you cannot compare two different cases, I wish your friend well.
