I can't think of another word for it .. hubbie has had a lot of 'wind' lately making awful noises, you know how it is .... anyway he says he hasn't got heartburn but I am worried this might be a symptom of something else .. can anyone help ?

My husband burps a lot and he has gastric reflux. He takes Lansoprazole (not sure about spelling) for it and sometimes Gaviscon too.
Karen I bet he gets sick of taking Lansoprazole - the tablets are like horse mints lol. Must admit they work wonders for gastric problems :)
He's on about 15 different tablets a day - he's had a kidney transplant and a heart attack - so he doesn't really notice them in particular. He does rattle when he walks mind you :)
Lansoprazole are just capsules without a taste; I take them too. They're really for reflux rather than wind, I think. Chcek out his diet

tell him to keep away anything fizzy for a cupple of weeks and go on a healthy diet for a while to see if there is any change
The chances are the 'wind' is being caused by the medication he is taking. I know someone who has had a liver transplant and his anti rejection drugs make him have 'wind'. Has he started on any new drugs or changed dosages?

As long as its not a sign of anything else .. I know heartburn can be mistaken for heart disease ... but as I say, he says he hasn't got that.
You say `he says` is he qualified to say that? Tell him to take more time eating his food as not not chewing properly before swallowing can cause tummy upsets.
