I have pretty bad cystitis at the mo, and nothing will clear it, am about to go to the doctor to get some antibiotics. However, i also have lower back pain that has continued for the past couple of days. It feels like an ache but sometimes gets so bad i have to sit down. i was wondering if it could be kidneys and if it be connected to the cystitis? p.s am  a recurrent sufferer of cystitis/ bladder infections since about 7yrs old :(

thanks x

Get to the doctors!  You could have a kidney infection, it sould be connected to the cystitis or anything.  But in general, kidney problems can cause lower back pain on just one or both sides.

You poor thing!  You really do need to go to the doc's though, as Sammy Snake said, could be a kidney infection.  You could have scarring on the kidneys as you've been prone to these infections from such a young age. Have you done the usual things like drinking plenty of water and also LOADS of Cranberry juice - that's especially good for water infections.  Sorry I can't be more help, but GO to the doctor's!!  Hope you feel better soon, and are able to enjoy Christmas xx :)

My goodness, you must get to the doctor.

I don't know anything about cystitis or kidneys, but it suddenly struck me that the doctors are so good and so useful that to not follow the answerbank's advice about seeking professional advise would be a mistake.

Go to see the doctor. Its really difficult to gather the courage (and/or the effort) but even if theres nothing wrong it's a good idea.
