a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 what do u expect? Its a needle hn your skin?

It will all depend on the size and type ot the tattoo. From personal experience, i would'nt say that it's a massive pain, but of course you can feel it: in my opinion, it feels like a strong scrape.

hope that helps.

Spiff xxxx

mine never hurt at all just a vibrating feeling and the odd sting. go 4 it!!!!

I've a tattoo of a teddy bear on my left bum cheek ad it hurt like made. The less 'musle or skin' the better it is - apparently. The funniest thing was the way I was sat when I washaving it done my right leg went dead and I limped out of there with a dead leg. 2 girls sat in the waiting room saw this and walked out.
For me it was the sound that was worse than anything.  Also where you have it can depend on the pain.  i wanted one at the bottom of my back but i was a wuss and knew it would hurt near my spine so went for a shoulder one instead.  From what i remember it was kind of hot really.
Surely how much it hurts depends on your pain threshold?  How can anyone tell you 'it hurts THIS much....'  -impossible.
I agree with most of the above.  I have one on my shoulder which didn't hurt at all but I had one done on my foot and it was very very painful.  The most pain comes from the regret of mutilating your body and having some stupid picture there for the rest of your life. but thats just my experience lol.
Not at all when compared to having it removed later in life...
it totally depends on where on your body you get the tatoo done. mine is on my shoulder blade - and honestly it hurt so much! the pain nearly made me faint. However, it's the sort of pain you can deal with, especially as you know you cant stop half way through and pull out! depends how strong-willed you are too. mind over matter and all that. whoever tells you a tatoo doesnt hurt is lying! plus - think long and very hard about what to get done and where to have it placed before you go through with it. i thought about it for months, and i still have the odd pang of regret.
how much depends on the price
it feels like you're being drawn on with a very sharp pencil!
I would describe it as more irritating than painful, but of course it does depend on the size and placement of the tattoo and of course your pain threshold.  If it was agony I wouldn't have gone back so many times!
I had my tattoo done on Bournemouth Beach in the sixties.I drew a snake and dagger, about 7 inches long. And this french hippy tied 3 needles together and dipped them in indian ink.3 days later the scabs fell of.but i dont remember much pain.wonderfull stuff that cyder!!.
Mine all felt like sunburn being slapped.  How much it hurts can also depend on how much you expect it to hurt - or conversely how much it won't hurt.

I've had a few & the one on my lower back hurt the most.  Well, it did at first but I believe that was because I was expecting it to!  With a bit of concentration/pseudo-meditation I found I was able to ignore the pain by closing my eyes & imagining I was sitting on a sun-kissed palm beach with the waves gently lapping at my feet.  I'm not joking or exaggerating to say that after a while I felt absolutely no pain whatsoever.

If you go for it, good luck.  Careful though - they're addictive...

I've got several in various places, and I wouldn't say that any of them hurt as such. It feels like a long drawn-out cat scratch! But as a few people have said, everyone has different pain thresholds.
