I gave birth to my 2nd child on all fours on the floor, but I didn't know she was coming I thought I needed to use the toilet. I was going to be induced and mega desperate to go, it only occured to me at the last minute that it may be the baby.
My 1st was on the side and the 3rd was on my back and she was the longest and most tiring birth but all 3 were wonderful births and I don't think sometimes you can plan a birth, you just go along with what your body is telling you to do.

sqad....I do hope the smack was to your liking,and hard enough!

I had an emergency C-section.......so cannot comment. But some of the more 'unorthodox' positions do look to be more practical-and the comfort is for the mother,...not the convenience of the doctor.
