swollen lymph node
Does anyone know anything about swollen lymph node? What causes it? What treatment is needed? Are there any complications?
My 7 year old daughter has it. I was told by a locum doctor on Sunday night and had to make appt for my GP for tomorrow to be examined in case it develops into anything else. Just wondering if anyone knows about it because I've never heard of it before.
Thanks in advance

Lymph is the fluid that carries the toxins & dead cells from around your body. If your lymph glands or nodes are swollen, it means that your are probably fighting something off (a cold or virus)
The nodes are like a filter, and if bacteria gets trapped in them they swell up & get a bit sore. The nodes also actually produce important components to do with the immune system (they're the cells that destroy foreign organisms)
Definitely go to the Dr, but she's probably just fighting off a bug or something.
