not all antibiotics work the same; if one doesn't they could try another. (It took me three different tries to get over my pneumonia last year, but the third one worked.) Go back to the doctor.

(I'm assuming this was a five-day course, which should be working by now.)

I tried NHS Direct but my area isn't covered by them apparantly. Tried my doctors too for advice but they wouldn't help me as he's not on their records
sorry, didn't see your post about not getting an appointment. Is there an A&E nearby?
It is not generally known that Harold Shipman did not commit suicide but was secretly released to live with a new identity in Scunthorpe. He continues to kill off the old and frail by giving duff advice in various web chat-rooms. Now I'm not saying there is any connection here but my informant tells me that a Scunthorpe resident has recently been taken back into custody with no internet access.

I think they are a seven day course

There's an A & E about 45mins away, I will maybe send him there

Thanks for all the help doctors and nurses, much appreicated :)
lol McMouse ! Sounds like Squad as he could have been a Junior Dr under Shipman ! :-)))
Tell your friend not to stop taking the antibiotics or else they won`t work if he does, the coarse must be completed.
Even in a mortuary he'd be leaning over & telling them it was 'no big deal'

:o)

I'll make sure he keeps taking them unless he gets told otherwise or gets a new batch
I can only agree if he can get to A&E, or if your hospital has a walk in centre. But he does sound as if he needs advice.

With experts like those that have commented on this thread, who needs a medically qualified person to give their opinion

Truths, half thruths, lies and innuendos, linked with bitchiness and vindictiveness, associated with comments on this thread by cazz1975, Robinia, daphy and jno are beyond contempt.

I have always given advice based on medical expertise and have clearly failed.

Thanks ethandron, thats very helpful. He deifinitly didn't get his ear cleaned out or get any ear drops
Fair play Sqaddy :-)
there was no bitchiness, credible advice deserves praise, dodgy advice will always be questioned.
Question Author
sqad, I always need your advice and the advice you have given me in the past has always helped.
Hello Squad, nice to see that you are still around. Stay with AB ! :-)
LOL Sqad! Was I right or was I right! Indeed you were on the outside looking in on the inside. :-)
nhs covers all of england - where do you live? Where is your nearest walk in centre? Why wont the GP give him an appointment? Have you told them it's urgent?
