I need a plan
12 Answers
I'm stuck in a city that has started to boar me to tears. I seriously need a change of scene. I've saved up £3000 and can do anything. I had planned to go to New York, rent an apartment and get a job and stay there for a year if i liked it. I've since then found out that its very difficult to work in the USA.
I need a plan. I really want to relocate to somewhere, do something different, make big changes to my living situation. Does anyone have any good ideas? I can get an apartment anywhere. Any good job web sites for places I am allowed to work. I plan on getting my own apartment somewhere, paying 2 months rent upfront and getting a job. Answers appreciated :)

The only (almost entirely) English speaking country within the EU, other than the UK, is Ireland which has experienced an economic crash and which is hard to find work in.
However English is widely spoken (and almost universally understood) in Malta. Like all 'sunshine resort' countries there's likely to be plenty of competition for jobs there but it might be worth considering.
Which city are you in? Not all UK cities are the same. I'd be bored to tears in some of them (e.g. Peterborough) but others, such as Brighton, are vibrant, friendly and full of fun.

I don't believe you've thought through this idea of yours thoroughly. £3,000 is not enough to start your adventure; you'd be surprise to see how quickly it'd finish. You'd need somewhere to stay before you find an apartment; hotel fee will take one third to half of you money. Most likely you'd need reference/s to get a job.
Then again, if you have a good education half of you problem will be solved as many countries would welcome a professional in a qualified field.

Society - all i've done is think this over, and over and over again!! £3000 is just a starting block, its enough money to do something decent with and for that reasons i intend using it. I would have been sorted with a job in New York before I went over... My friends owns her own cleaning company over there and would fix me up proper! Yeah the NY plan was a beauty, just such a shame its not legal to work over there... Booo! Thanks for your answers x
hey Smurf, you are right. I am lucky to be in this position. At the moment it feels like no position though, like a big empty space just waiting to be filled with one of Lovehearts new adventures... I hope i find it because i'm living in a void at the moment and I'm not enjoying it. The city i am in bores me to tears, same friends doing the same old things... Nothing changes. I've changed though and I'm ready to let the world, and my friends see just how much i have changed.. That means upping myself and taking myself from the situation and in and putting myself in a fine other one... easier said than done though... Thats the plan hahaha... What do you think of my plan! Get the hell out of this city!!!

Travelling around the world is a fad now so I think your plan is awesome! You just have to plan wisely though since you have a limited budget. How about working online so you can work while traveling as long as you have a laptop and internet access, then you're all set.
