EMPTY MINDED!

The weirdest thing has been happening to me.

I simply stopped thinking.

I'm generally a pensive person, who enjoys a good mind-boggling puzzle. So this sudden empty-mindedness concerns me.

I can perform simple tasks (like writing this message), but I have a hard time doing more mentally strenuous tasks, especially those that require me to search through my memory. In the last week, I was only able to finish half of my test, and I struggled with my free response essays.

Also, I used to get headaches whenever I drink coffee. Now, I don't feel anything. In fact, I don't even get the normal headaches when I'm tired either.

One of the weirdest things is that, before this, I had a huge crush on a boy. I thought about him a lot (I'm sure you all know how these things go :) ). Then suddenly, I stopped. Completely.

Overall, I have a time analyzing information; my memory is foggy; and my emotions are dull (evidence that you feel with your brain NOT your heart!)

ADVICE PLEASE?!

if unhelpful ask for referral to neurologist.
If it had been slower onset depression might be a possibility but this seems too 'instant'
This may sound silly, but, perhaps you have a lot on your mind causing you to go blank.
I do find that when I'm stressed and have a lot on my plate my head suddenly turns into a sieve and I forget everything and can't concentrate. Maybe you should just try and relax and not worry about things so much.
In my own experience, An 'overdose' of stress over a long period of time can make you feel like this. Sort of empty and nonchalant. Almost as if your mind has switched off. You perhaps need a complete break somewhere to kick start you again!
