Well, its a matter of opinion isnt it really?Turkey has a notoriety of being a countrywhere men use english women as 'meal tickets'as a way out of there, then again, there area few that are genuine....just warn her to be verycareful!!

Not a cat in hells!

The bloke will be nice and wait until he can cream a flight to the UK on her money then be nice as pie till he can get married, get divorced and claim benefits or get a job legally in the U.K. Tell her to steer clear!

we all went on a girls holiday out to turkey back in june, when i was out there my mate got with a waiter, he didnt want to know when she got back home no calls etc, any way i was chatting to one of the other waiters girlfriends and she gave up everything in the uk to be with him and it worked they have been together for 2yrs

Turkey is notorious for this kind of thing. As SGK says, almost any girl that goes out there will be proposed to/have a man fall "in love" with her.  Even in school i remember girls as young as 14 with the same story.

Forgive my scepticism!

remember 'Shirley Valentine'?

unfortunately i have to agree with the replies so far that it probably wont work. My cousin married a greek man she met on holiday. He was a real charmer and all my family liked him. After she had a child with this man he basically handed her and the child to his parents to set her to work and began womanising again. This does seem to be the norm for these type of marriages. That said, there are exceptions and you should console yourself in the fact that your friend needs to make her own mistakes. All you can really do is try to support her.

Unfortunately, none of my holiday romances never worked out after i'd got home! But my friend went to Turkey every year, and when she was about 15 (i think) she met a Turkish man quite a few years older then her, they wrote to each other all the time after she had left. She told me she was going back to see him and she did do the year after. To everyones surprise while she was over there (age 16) they got married!!! And now he is living over here, they are both happilly married and living together and she is now 22! So I guess it can work out but in my experience holiday romances have always been a bit of fun, excitement and a teenage crush!
passport!!!!!!!!!!!!
She should tell him that if they get married she's want to live in Turkey. he'll probably move on to the next girl very quickly after that. I went to Turkey a few years ago with my boyfriend and the waiters wopuldn't leave me alone, even though they knew i had a serious boyfriend. I got 8 proposals in 2 weeks. The majority of them are desperate to get over to the Uk. Remember the 14 year old who was in the newspapers 2 years ago.........

I have a friend who had a holiday romance in Turkey.5 yrs on they are married and have just had their first child. It can work, but its fair to say it probably doesn't work very often!
