Aha!

I do know some stuff about this. It's called Hypercalcaemia. Often there are no symptoms, but there can be constipation, lack of appetite, nausea& vomiting, pain  in your abdomen. You can get symptoms of dehydration, even though the kidneys are really producing a lot of urine.

If it gets very severe, it can cause confusion, hallucinations & increasing weakness. If  it goes on for a long time it can lead to the formation of kidney stones.

You need to find out the underlying cause which can be as simple as drinking too much milk or a lot of antacid pills. Drinking plenty of water is good as it gets rid of excess calcium(but only if you've had your kidney function checked & the Dr says it's safe to do so)  A more serious case might need diuretics to help flush out the calcium.

there are various drug therapies as well.

The most important thing is to find out the cause & treat that.

When I was rushed into hospital with kidney stones, the Consultant asked me never to take calcium tablets/supplements again. So in answer to your question, kidney stones can be one of the side effects.
