Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatroy that is being given serious scientific testing. It helps me out if i feel an attack coming on and its a great excuse to have a massive curry fest from my local take away!
Yes...injections of cortisone.

If you are getting it regularly then you should get the doc to give you allupurinol as a preventative measure. Regular attacks of gout will damage joints better to control the source.
what Geezer says. I've been taking allopurinol for years, and I haven't had any attacks for years; I used to get it quite often.
