Shaving one eyebrow off?

I watched Shameless last night (an old episode) and saw that one of the baddies had one eyebrow completely shaved off. Is this just a fashion trend or is there some meaning behind it? I've not noticed it before.

I know some ladies shave theirs off then draw 'em back on again - possibly to give them a more defined shape - but why would a fella shave one off completely? (Unless it was done for a prank).

The actor used to be in Coronation Street and he just doesn't look right playing a baddie.

oh, is it the left one? No wonder I've been getting no attention, I've been doing it wrong all these years. Bette Davis shaved hers off to play Elizabeth I and they never grew back again, so it's a risky business.
