Pollen count was really high today, I was a bit rough yesterday but todays been really horrid, O find the combination of one tablet, a nasal spray and eye drops has kept most of it at bay but my throats still sore and my eyes have been pretty bad. Generally just the nasal spray and eye drops work so I agree, pollen count was damn high!
If you can get some local honey it really does work (you take one teaspoon a day and on most days it does fine - though the first day you take it it really does your head in, but after that it works a treat). I can't get any local honey at the moment (some bee problem apparently) so I have been taking Asda 1-a-day tablets and they are great (84p for 7!!!).
Not sure there's an abundence of local honey off tottenham court road unfortunately otherwise I'd give that a go. I've had people tell me it works wonderfully before and I'd be quite up for trying it.
Hi NQ.I think I have similar problems, runny nose and eyes but also a heavy chesty cough. I find a mixture of one tablespoonfull of honey, the juice of one lemon "stirred, not shaken" into a glass of hot water eases the problem for a while. I tend to make a large jug of this...increasing the strengh of course so that I can take a drink as and when needed, it works just as well hot or cold. Hope this helps.
I get it every year, I seem to be allergic to all the sorts of pollen so I am on an antihistamine (with GP approval) from March-Oct every year. He also prescribes anti-allergen eye drops and I have a nasal spray which I rarely need. Strangely it didn't start until I was about 30, not a lifelong problem.
my OH gets hayfever, and I get it to a muchmilder degree. We both find that treating the symptoms at source are the best solutions. I.e. nasal sprays and eye drops. We both find Beconase nasal spray and Boots own hayfever eye drops are the best for us.
Yes and it gets ridiculous. Moreso since I moved up North?!
I have to take a tablet, eye drops, nasal sprey and use a nasal balm to stop me turning into a snot monster lol. I missed my GCSE's once because my eyes swelled so bad I couldn't see.
