Face cream/gunk

The question below prompted me...

Am I the only woman on here or indeed anywhere who never uses face creams EVER? I have in the past bought pots of 'stuff' and dilligently slapped whatever it was on for about a week or so, then the novelty's worn off and the lid never gets taken off again. It is eventually shoved in the bin.

I never cleanse tone or moistourise (see? I can't even spell it!). Am I committing a major womanly faux pas? Will my face cave in by the time i'm 50 if i don't start slapping gunk on? Or have i left it too late now anyway?

Yours worried....

Lol I am in my late 20's and I have been trying since my teens to find a skin regime that doesn't cover me in acne - to no avail I might add. Some people just have good skin and need nothing to help them along. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones Boo?

I'm not sure what's considered 'good skin'? Lack of spots? Then yeah its ok I guess, get the odd one, but never an outbreak.
Apparently moisturizer is a must for good skin and help with ageing. But my OH mum is in her early 60's and has amazing skin and she never does anything to it. I guess some people are just lucky.
pmsl i know where your coming from I can't see any benefits myself from slapping this rubbish on but I feel I have to so I don't look like i'm ready for the grave when I am still wearing levi jeans! but maybe this whole thing is a cosmetic's company scam, did they all look bad back in the day when these things werent widely used???
B00, snap. I have good intentions, and slosh stuff about when I see a pot of goop reproaching me, but it's very slapdash (both in frequency and accuracy!) - if I haven't done it now I never will (and I'm older than you). I do use body butter on my body, or Avon Skin So Soft, spray, because I have dry skin. Face doesn't seem dry at all though.
Those who moisturize and don't smoke and have good diets will have youthful skin, hormones, hair and nails. Did you see Floella Benjamin today on this morning? She's nearly 61 and looks 30.
Sorry babe, I've got day, night and eye cream for the face (all from aldi, recommend them!) and another moisturiser from my body. I feel the difference when I don't use 'em...
I used to know a woman at work who used to make fun of people using face cream, mind you she had a face like a leather boot.

I dont even use body stuff either boxtops. I might slather on a bit of skin moussey stuff (Xmas pressy) occasionally, but its a rarity.

I think the last bottle of gunk I bought was Ponds night cream?? I religeously slathered my face every night before going to bed for a week, didnt see the "miraculously, babysoft skin" it promised me, got disenchanted (or lazy) and haven't used it since, that was about 6 months ago.

I just read mags, and here where women use this, this and this product, and I think "corrrrr, I must be a real slattern"
Debbie Harry's 65 tomorrow and she looks kinda young, but I'm told heroin does that to you; I don't know if this is a viable option for you. Can't speak for myself but my younger sis only washes her face in cold water and she looks maybe 20 years younger than most mortals of her age (53).

See? CD's making me feel like that slattern now :-(
Lol@cazzz, that's the best laugh I've had all day!
Was this the "Boot faced woman"?

Some people have good skin Boobies and don't need it, if you're happy enough then no need to worry about it... Personally, I need all the damn help I can get!
she was weathered by her pernod addiction I think bf..

I wouldnt worry b00, my mom has never used creams and has always looked very youthful, I think its down to genetics, lets face it some people like sid james have never looked young, I dont think the creams make a difference..;)
i use liz earle and its BRILL...not religiously though i wish i had the determination to do it eveyr day and night...3 step cleanse n polish n toner...love it..then moisturiser and my soothing eye stuffs...xxxx
I'm afraid I just go "oh s*d I've fallen asleep on the sofa again and it's after midnight, quick clean me teeth, is this the way to bed..."
I use Liz Earle products or Decleor Hydra Floral.
sorry but all the heroin users i know look twice their age and have no teeth left. i only use aqueous cream coz otherwise my skin goes flaky
boo, i'm exactly the same, never use any stuff on my face. stopped wearing make-up a few years ago too, just some lip salve and lip gloss, and occasionally a quick brush over with some bronzy blusher stuff from body shop. haven't worn eye make-up since i can't remember when, makes my eyes water and sting.
always use body moisturiser on my legs and feet though, helps keep the tan and keeps the heels and feet nice. and some nice smelly moisturiser on my arms, usually sunflowers to match the body spray.
i use nivea wipes and boots own foamy face wash in the shower in the morning, and that's as far as mybeauty routine goes.
I'm 60+++ and have never used face creams. I'm told that I look at least 10 years younger than I am. I would guess it's in the genes.
