Basically had a verucca/wart on my toe for 2 years now. I've tried every treatment available and when that didnt work I went to the doctor who told me that there was nothing she could try just that my body would get rid of it eventually. Because of where it is it causes discomfort most of the time. I know that its a virus so there is nothing that can be done to cure it but surely there must be something (eg cutting it out?) 2 years is a long time! any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is it on the webs between the toes or on the toe itself? I understand this is a burden, Pinkie, Have you asked your doctor to freeze the wart? This is done by apply liquid nitrogen to the wart thus rendering the virus dormant and halting multiplication. Warts come in all shapes and sizes and the time it takes to warts to subside depends on immunology which varies between patients. Unfortunately, warts are not a doctors priority and prescription medicines tend to be very expensive for the NHS, hence you will hear doctors telling you to wait it off. Cutting it out is not really an option, this can cause scarring and other unnecessary complications...your wart will have it's own blood supply. Big problem to you, small problem for your doctor. Next line of action: Liquid nitrogen.
PS: excuse my poor grammar, it's been a very long day (I'm on jury service).

ouch...corn plasters would they relieve the pressure?? try a chiropodist (spelling!??) mabye they can see to it? have you googled it or sometimes i even youtube things!! xx good luck xx
I believe the latest thinking is to keep it covered at all times with gaffa tape, to stop any air getting to it.
Should have said - not an old wives tale, the tape was recommended by a chiropodist.
I had a situation a few years ago, I had mosaic warts covering the bottom of one foot, there were so many that to remove them would have meant me losing so much flesh it couldn't be done and i was told to just leave it. By chance I was talking to a homeopathic practitioner a while after visiting the DR, he gave me some stuff to put on twice a day (thuja) i also had to take some pills. 2 weeks later they were completely gone! I actually consider all this homeopathic stuff to be nonsense but this really worked 100% don't try treating it yourself, go to a practitioner.
Karen is biting her tongue RATTER...!!!
Why, what did I say?
I actually consider all this homeopathic stuff to be nonsense.....

And so is God ;-)
OK, I'm a realist, there is no evidence to support the god theory and very little to support homeopathy.

Give me a break, I said it worked didn't I !!!!

You be careful chewing on that tongue of yours :-)
Lol....I was only messing x

Glad it worked though :-)
ummmmm, I have a very good friend who is a homeopathic practitioner, she swears by it, I dont believe a word! she has done this most of her life and she admits that she really has no idea how it works.

I guessed it was a wind up lol ;-)
My Aunty swears by crystal healing. She tried everything for years to ease her scatica (sp) and was clutching at straws in the end. She's cured....

Also her husband who had a very serious accident (he fell 30ft and landed on his head!!) was suffering headaches. He presumed due to the accident (his head is held together by metal) but this crystal healer said he was allergic to fluoride....he swapped tooth pastes and his headaches went.

All very bizarre....
I watched another documentary about crystal healing, this guy went around to all these different crystal healers in the course of this programme, they all came up with different diagnosis of what was wrong with him, in fact he was very fit and healthy. One thing he asked all of them was, what crystal was in the silk bag he was holding? they all said they would be able to guess from the energy coming from this crystal. on completion of all these people checking these energy levels, he opened the bag, it was a Werthers original inside!!!

I suppose it one of those things, if you believe in these miracle cures, the power of the mind will cure the body, well that's my theory. but saying that, I didn't believe that the homeopathy would cure my warts but it did!
It's all very weird.

This bloke is my cousins Uncle....I watched an interview with Michael Flatterly who said that he suffered undiagnosed for years....

pinkie, i posted on 1st july about a verruca i had under my heel (actually 3 of them all very close together). i took the nhs advice and bought a roll of duct tape and did what they suggested - keep it covered with duct tape for 6 days then remove it, soak for 5 minutes then file down and reapply duct tape. if duct tape falls off, just reapply a fresh piece. keep on doing this until the verrica goes. after 2 weeks there was a definite change in it but it was still there so i bought a tube of salacylic acid (the active ingredient in all the costly verruca treatments available) for about £2 in boots. i applied this twice a day before slapping the duct tape on - hey presto, it disappeared last week!! the skin on and around it had gone very white and soft, so a little bit of picking at it and it all came away. now there's not even a mark under my heel where it was.
i'd give it a try if i was you, you just have to be persistant with it.
