I play rugby - am in my 30s and am just thinking if there is a specific age when you should retire? Like ALL players have a fair few niggly injuries and twinges....I dont want to do lasting damage as I also enjoy otehr activities such as running/cycling/swimming.

Im pretty sure my dad played in his veterens team last year, hes in his 60s.
Generally I'd say play for as long as you can. I still play football regularly and I'm in my 50s!. But if it is very competitive and injuries are common then it might be worth concentrating on the other sports you mentioned if you enjoy them . However if rugby is your main love then carry on until your body forces you to stop or you know you are letting the side down
Stop playing when any niggles/injuries take too long to recover from and are still around at the next game which will just compound any problems. Your age has little to do with it imo...
... or when you run on to the pitch and other players come up to you for half time oranges ;-p
^ Superb player and Captain...
I'm sure TomPritchard is going almost as well.
I watched the 2005 British Lions v All Blacks series again on DVD at the weekend... always enjoy watching Tana...
