My daughter recently travelled overseas and on the return journey, picked up both suitcases with one hand. Subsequently, the arm became very sore to the point where she couldn't lift anything and physio, ultra sound and dr's appts were necessary.
This morning the doctor gave her the ultra sound report - a tear of 4mm in diameter in the extensor tendon consistent with a lateral epicondylitis, surrounding hyperaemia was present - could you translate this into layman's terms, with a recovery time prognosis please.
The dr seemed to think 2-4 weeks of physio, ant-inflammitories, voltaren gel and rest - I'm not sure about the gel, the anti-inflam makes her sick and I feel the time span isn't long enough, but I'd welcome your thoughts etc, they would be much appreciated skz
