Heel Pain
15 Answers
Morning All,
When I wake up in the morning (and often when I get home thinking about it), I get a pain in my foot and heel which I believe actually has a specific name, I was wondering if anyone knew it please? I'd like to have a read up on it as I think it may have a bearing on days when my leg pain flares up as well.
Thank you!

I've had that and it's ouch. But maybe it's just gout or someting (red wine not required for this, whatever people say).

oh cd, i suffered from severe heel pain a few years ago.
gosh it was awful, soo painful, i could hardly put my foot down on the ground at times. a real needle like pain it was, is that like yours?
i always found wearing a bandage wrapped round it to support it and to give a little bit of cushioning helped a bit.
mine lasted for a good year or so. i never went to see anyone about it.
thankfully it seems to be ok now, just on the very very rare occasion it might briefly return.

Hi looby!
It's not quite to that extent, it's painful in the morning and can be a bit painful if I've had a day where I've been wandering around around a lot but I've been wearing good shoes etc... The main reason I'm asking is I hurt my leg (very randomly, it just 'went') a couple of months ago and had a bit of physio for it (which made it worse) and I recall the physio lady asking if I had pains in my heel which at the time I hadn't noticed. Now I have started to notice, I wonder if the two are linked, certainly on days when my heel has been quite sore in the morning, I've noticed my leg gets irritated (but that could just be me compensating and walking slightly differently I guess) so just wanted to read up a bit more about it. I really hate going to see a doctor in my own time (since I'm always surrounded by them) and especially not if the problem will clear up itself so want to make sure it's worth my time going back to GP.

afternoon china,
ahh i see, ok .. slightly different then to what i had i guess.
hmm, well see how it goes then eh, dont let it get tooo bad because there might be something that can be done beings you were asked about heel pain previously.
if you just put up with the pain and discomfort, it might be doing harm over time.
i think the best thing to do is ... lol .. now listen very carefully ok ....
is to just put your feet up 24/7, rest, watch a bit of telly, maybe do a puzzle book inbetween having a chit chat on AB and a snooze. have cups of tea bought to you at regular intervals with the odd hobnob or three, and make sure you arrange for thoroughly tasty delicious meals to be served when feeling peckish, while youre looking after that delicate heel of yours...
.... might help quite nicely, dont you thiink?! ... ;o)

if it's plantar fasciitis, it seems crocs are good, so you can be healthy and trendy at the same time
