Earlier this year I bought a new duvet as the one I had had got too thin and I got very cold at night, I bought a 10.5 one which matched the previous one but was getting too hot with it. Have replaced it with a 7 tog one but am still getting very hot, even with the window open. Is there anything which may be causing me to get so warm and what (apart from buying an even lower tog duvet) can I do about it? TIA

What about a light throw instead of a duvet Sophie?
Sleep in the Garden Sophie.

You look a bit young from your photo for the menopause, but it could be that.....

Yes have tried just using a duvet cover but that is sometimes too thin, will maybe look out for a throw!
I hope it's not the menopause Den, am only 23!
ive got a nice furry throw sophie, fleecy on the under side so its nice and cosy against your skin, and furry on the upper side so it looks nice and 'plush' - thats lovely to sleep under at night when its a bit warm. maybe if you can get something similar?.
also, how about treating yourself to an electric fan to sit by your bedside at night? ive got one and wouldnt be without it.
I've got a matching duvet cover and quilted throw. The duvet is duck feather and down 10.5 tog and the throw is 1 tog. In the winter I use the duvet and if it's really cold pull the throw over as well. In the summer I put the duvet away in a vacuum bag and just use the throw. (I keep a pair of slipper socks handy because sometimes in the mornings my feet feel a bit chilly).
Works for me!
could be a hormonal problem, are you menopausal ?

Nooo anne! Only 23!
Looks like a throw it is, like the sound of the fleecy one, will have a look in Dunelm when I go into town next!
ha ha - defo not the menopause then Sophie.
I get too hot under a duvet, I sleep under a throw, always have the window open and have a dehumidifier set for an hour to make sure I'm nice and cool before I go to sleep. I couldn't have a hot bath or anything before bed.

I have only been like that the last few years and I'm only 31.
i use a 4.5 tog in the summer but have a fleecy throw which I use if feeling a bit chilly! Not had the best of summers here and as I am off for some sunshine next week I feel I should be getting winter duvet on for my return!
For warm-weather use we have an all-cotton duvet. Tog 5 but heavier than other types and very comfortable (and it was really inexpensive at Lidl!).
