Colon Cancer Test SQAD help

My mum had to take a 'stools' test over three days and sent samples off. She had a letter back saying tests were unclear and she has to test again. Is this anything to worry about ? She has 'piles' sometimes they are quite painful, could some blood from this have got into the test?

Dont know if Sqad is around, but this is from the NHS website

"Around 4 in 100 people may initially receive an unclear result which means that there was a slight suggestion of blood in the test sample. This could be caused by conditions other than cancer such as haemorrhoids (piles). An unclear result does not mean that cancer is present, but that the FOB test will need to be repeated. Most people who repeat the test will then go on to receive a normal result."

Hope it puts her mind at rest. I think that blood in the stools is what is being looked for, but there are other things that cause this as well. Hope she will be OK - it seems very, very likely that she will.

Lofty has said it all, but commonest things occur commonest and the commonest thing for blood in stools is piles.

Tell your mum not to worry I had to do two tests and the second one was clear. Hope hers is too as I am sure it will be.
