sinus /polyp operation

hi just had a sinus operation although i have no pain in my nose. my throat is very dry and feels raw is this normal after such an op. and is there anything i can do to alleviate the discomfort. i am taking paracetamol

If your operation was within the last 3or 4 days, then the "sore throat" could well be due to damage (not serious) to the back of the throat due to the endotracheal tube which is used to keep you asleep during the operation.It passes through your nose, into the back of your throat and into your windpipe.

hi tamirra. i have not been able to smell anything for about 18months. so cannot really answer your question/ my scan showed bad blockage and polyps. had the op thurs but as yet i still cant smell anything. hope all goes well for you and you get to find the source of your problem.maybe sqad can give you further advice as he gives a lot of help to people on answerbank
