My hair has been getting crusty and been getting some white dust stuff lately. Before I had a faux hawk and I always put gel on, and I've never had a crusty hair problem before then I got a crew cut over the summer, which pretty much a really short haircut so i didnt need any gel anymore, then now I got my faux hawk back and been putting on gel lately again then i get this white crusty hair. Can someone explain why am i getting crusty hair? I use normal gel btw.

i dont have dunruff, when i wash my hair after gel use, my hair is soft and very easy to comb, but lately when i have been putting gel on, my hair gets lots of white stuff and brittle too i dont why is this, before i did not have this
Is it something in the hair gel? Look at your scalp, is it white and flaky? Are you getting white bits of skin on your clothes at the shoulders? That's Dandruff !
Kev do you mean a Mohawk ??
No smurf (but sort of) it is called a Faux Hawk, have a look at the links!
It could be Seborrheic Dermatitis? have a look at this http://www.mayoclinic...984/DSECTION=symptoms
