I have what feels like a mini electric shock going through one of the nerves in my lower back after moving a piano, i was told by a friend that to lift anything heavy you should always keep your legs straight and lift with a sharp twisting jerking movement using your back and never your legs and it was after doing this that my injury occurred, is this permanent?

No Im serious, ive taken painkillers and have booked an app to see the doctor later and im seriously worried as this could impact my fitness regime.
I'm surprised you're still alive are that lifting action. Crazy.
Are you sure the person who told you that is a friend?
Your friend told you all the things you`re supposed not to do.
You should lift with you legs bent, using the buttock and theigh muscles rather than the back, and you should use steps to turn rather than twist.

I can't believe i listened to her mcmouse, something told me that it was the other way around and you should lift with your legs and never with your back tisting or jerking but as we was in a rush i just went at it. Would ice or warmth be good for this at the moment?
