I'm worried about my period which was light for 2 weeks (barely there really) and has now been very heavy for 6 days with no sign of let up. And painful. This is completely out of character for me- I'm usually every 28 days for 5 days with only pain on day 1 or 2.
The Doc said come back in 2 weeks!! Surely this can't be right? Plus I am feeling weak and vague and can't focus properly. Thyroid is normal.

Go back and reiterate your tiredness etc another two weeks is wrong in this instance.
I must apologise I misread the 6 days part of your post, give it a bit longer and if it does not slow up or lessen then go back, sometimes at certain times in our lives a change in menstruation does occur.
Might be worth talking to practice nurse.
why dont you get a 2nd opinion from another GP. it'll put yr mind at rest
I think that I remember your previous post on this subject.
You blood tests for anaemia and thyroid problems are normal which cannot then account for your tiredness.

So we are left with your gynaecological problem as a cause for your symptoms and as this id the first period that you have had that has been abnormal then I think that the management suggested by your doctor is the correct one.

A policy of "wait and see" for 2 weeks.
