When I used to do herbal presentations and massages I used to steer people away from baby oil. Everyone is different and very many people love baby oil but it is like liquid vaseline and just sits on the skin instead of being properly absorbed. In fact it is good as a carrier oil for massage is you want to do a lengthy massage because of the way it sits on the surface of the skin and stays workable for a long time.
Better for moisturising is olive oil, almond oil (wonderfully absorbing) or cocoa butter.
It is not new about aqueous cream being not such a good choice for sufferers of skin conditions as it contains detergent which can aggravate and not help the condition.
It is cheap but I found it had mixed results on my dry skin so ditched it.
You just have to keep trying moisturisers until you find one you, and your skin, like.
Incidentally, because most of us are showering for the most part these days, one of the greatest ways of helping the skin hydrate, a good bath product, is forgotten. Finish off such a bath with a favourite moisturiser and see the difference.
