Afternoon all. Not sure whether I should have put this in Technology or even Science, but I'll try here first.
I'm planning to try wearing a magnetic braclet to see if it helps arthritis in my wrist and fingers. (Can't take any more painkillers, I'm already on a fairly high dose). I wear my watch on the same wrist. Will the magnets affect the battery or workings of the watch? I think I'd feel all back to front if I tried wearing the watch on my other arm.
Actually they aren't uncomfortable or painful in any way. It's just that I've seen no difference from before I'd started wearing them. And feet don't get stuck to any thing metal.
Many thanks. I'm not really expecting any positive results, but I don't see that it can do any harm - other than possibly to my watch battery, and you have reassured me that will be OK. I'll give it a try for a couple of days.
Tearinghair - you need to keep it on for at least a month. I had tennis elbow and my megnetic bracelet really seemed to help. My daughter has RSI and swears by hers too. We both wear ours on the other wrist to our watches though.
They do work, but the effectiveness varies from person to person. Most get an undetectable minuscule benefit from them, others are more sensitive and believe they can feel an improvement, no matter how small.
To get a good benefit from a magnetic force you need to wear one the size of a locomotive on your wrist.
Mr thug and I both wear Magnetic Therapy bracelets and we wouldn't be without them. For me there was immediate and undeniable benefit. He has recently sufered from a bad back only to find the magnet has been lost from his bracelet. He switched to a spare and his back has improved dramatically. Why not wear the bracelet on the other arm? Beware of cheap imitations which are not strong enough to have any effect.
And if the bracelets don't work then you could always Google for "Apple Cider Vinegar" (available as liquid or tablets) which many people take for Arthritis.
consuming ginge - might just be that he prefers butter on his toast! I think he said that the natural oils in butter helped rather than the synthetic stuff that his marg was made from.
I was wearing it this morning and discovered that my watch had stopped (and I had a new battery only a few weeks ago). Took off the bracelet and the watch started again.
