good sleeping position?
16 Answers
Last night I realised that I sleep kind of in the recovery position. Except with a pillow between my hands/arms and my head also the hand thats meant to be flat against my cheek is often on my shoulder, but roughly in the right place for the RP.
And with my asthma I find that i'm not wheezing when i lay like this.
Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

I sometimes sleep flat on my back, but the favoured position is on my left side more or less as you describe, but I keep the pillow under my head - although often my hand sneaks under the pillow.

It's a sleep position I adopted thirty years ago when I was pregnant, and one I've slept in ever since. When my doctor was questioning me about possible sleep apnoea a few months ago (I don't have it), she asked me what position I slept in. When I told her, she said it was one of the best positions to sleep in if you're comfortable with it.
