I have been plagued for ages with a corn on my little toe, and visits to chiropodists at 22 quid a whack don't seem to do any lasting good, as they don't seem able to get to the root (sorry!!) of the problem: 7 - 10 days later it's as bad as ever.
Does anyone know any tried and tested ways of geting rid of it?
I am happy to go to bed with a potato or a turnip on it if needs be!
Thanks a lot
When I was younger the tried and tested remedy was Carnation corn plasters. Chiropodists will claim that they are dangerous because they are corrosive, but neither I or anyone else I know has had any bother. They seemed to work for me; chiropodists just want your business. Beware of quai-medics.
It might be your shoes? You can get them treated till you are blue in the face but if you wear shoes that put pressure on the area then the corn will come back...
I have found by trial and error that Compeed plasters especially shaped for little toes work the best. They relieve the pressure on the toe without constricting it. Just don't put them on too tight. I have been using them for about 2 months now - not one visit to the chiropodist.
