Is there any point in going for Alternative therapies like homeopathy or acupuncture, or is it best just to stay with straight forward approaches? I have really bad deRets syndrome and nothing I have tried works.

I would ALWAYS go for alternative therapies. In my experience, the Doctors will give you drugs which make you worse in some other way. Give homeopathy a try- it certainly won't make you worse!
Hi Scarlett - thought I'd mention that smvdge is nothing to do with me. Yours, smudge.

If you've tried 'convential' medicine, then of course try alternative therapies.  Maybe they'll work, maybe they won't.  But at least you will have tried them.  Try the cheaper ones first I would say!!  Can't say anything about your specific problem though.  As for scarlett's view, I know there are plenty of drugs with side effects but you have to make an educated decision on the balance of beneficial and unwanted effects.  And I know there are drugs like antibiotics which now we are seeing problems as a result of over-prescribing - but doctors were only doing then what they thought was best.  they are trying to remedy this now.  The vast majority of doctors do genuinely want to help, and if you think yours is being unhelpful or won't discuss side effects with you, then you should change GPs.

Anyway back to Smadge - yes go for it why not. It is unlikely to make you worse - but remember, some alternative therapies still have side effects or counter-indications and often are still chemicals that you are putting in or on your body.

Its actually Tourettes syndrome,Which suprises me.For somebody claiming to have it.They cant spell it?But then again somebody who cant think up an original user name,Say no more!!

I don't wish to be rude to the people who have replied, but the person asking this question is another imposter.

The first person typing this question was smvdge, but has now changed to smadge.

They have nothing better to do than cause problems on this site. Regards smudge.

P.S. Thanks vinny200 - my sentiments entirely.
