Tummy tuck lady on Daybreak this morning?
4 Answers
Surely after having a baby nearly all women's tummy's look like that! I am aware that her's is through weight loss. The aspect of this piece that upset me, is I have had one child (admittedly through C-Section) my tummy is WAY worse than that. My reason for posting is that I am now concerned that perhaps my tummy isn't normal? How many other women out there have similar "deflated balloon" tummies? I'm not necssarily that concerned about mine, I know I can never wear a bikini, but I am concerned that maybe my tummy is particularly bad!!

My ex's tummy was like that, she hated it- I just saw it as part of her and the children she'd had. I think it's very normal for a lady, particularly if she is very slim to stretch in the tummy region and for it not to go back to a pre pegnancy state. I don't think most women see that as normal because of the abnormally perfect image that is projected by the media of mothers ( Posh Spice, Demi Moore etc) who have access to huge amounts of money and surgery. Nearly all of the women I have been out with who have had a child have some degree or other of 'mummy tummy'- it's no big deal, certainly not unusual and I'm sure you're fine.
Also, if you had a section, you have the little bit that hangs over the scar - there is no amount of diet or exercise that will ever get rid of that - surgery is the only option. I also had a 4 finger wide split in my tummy muscles - that has never fully closed either. That is all completely normal I think.
