SHould I go back to dr?

Sorry to whinge:-( I'm day 12 of cold / flu / infection(who knows which) my cough is non Stop at night. Sinus are killing me. Yellow/grey phlegm. I don't have a thermometer so unable to check temp but I feel achy on and off. So would YOU go to gp ?

Dont think of it as wasting Dr's time.
12 days is a long time for a cold. If you have a productive cough and you are bringing up phlegm etc, you may have a chest infection that will require anti biotics to clear.

You have already seen your GP who gave you antibiotics and told you to hold back taking them until and if your chest got involved. You decided to take them straight away and now you still have the signs of "flu".

Mmmmm!......you had better go back to see your GP although I cannot see what else he can do other than advice fluids, Paracetamol and CONSIDER further antibiotics.

Ta for rep squad. No the dr didn't give antibiotics for chest nor did she say hold off taking them. She said take them "just in case" it was strep throat. The "just in case" was as she wasn't totally sure if throat was strep or not and she thought better to err on side of caution.

Ps the prev visit to gp was my first in three years so no it wasn't a case of always going for any little thing.

This was your post....the antibiotics would have been suitable for your chest as well as the throat.

So glad I listened to all ur advice . Went to dr have got chest inf and given antibiotics and instructions to return if no better after few days for chest xray
