I got a little emotional this afternoon and after a good cry I noticed I had small red dots around my eyes.  They're still there not and I know they'll disappear in w wee while, but i wondered what they are.  Is it something to do with blood vessels at all?

Morrisonker - Hope you're feeling better after your good cry. Maybe your skin is sensitive to the salt in your tears. Hope it clears up soon.
don't know, but hope u feel better!
nope your both wrong sorry guys, the little red dots your on about these are called capillaries (the smallest blood vessels in your body), the walls of the smallest capillaries which are in your eyes are only one cell layer thick and there diameter is small enought for only a single red blood cell to pass throught so these are easly truptured so crying easily bursts these blood vessels and thats why you can see them.
The 'salt in your tears' was a tongue in cheek suggestion. But now I really know what causes it - thanks C.
