Feeling Ill after giving blood
35 Answers
I gave my 5th blood donation last night and shortly afterwards I came over horribly dizzy, felt nauseous and was all clammy. That lasted for about half an hour and I had a fuzzy head for the rest of the night. I've never had any sort of problem with previous donations before so is there a reason I would have this time?
They did have trouble getting the vein. The nurse said it was really deep and had to move it around quite a lot once the need was in. Could it have been something to do with that?

I am B neg too (and it is supposed to be rare-2% of poulation) so it's surprising to find others on here. Do they ask you every 3 months like they do me as they really need it?.I have given loads of times but have on 2 occasions been too anaemic and I'm sure they ask for mine too often.
To stick to the thread,I have occasionally felt a little 'out of it' afterwards and once felt a bit over-tired but that's all,Ive never felt ill.
