Hair dye doesnt seem to work

Trying to dye my hair from brown to blonde but it just doesnt work. Tried two brands of blonde colour, followed instructions, but no effect. Whats going on here?

Did you use a lightener first? If you are just using a toner it will not work.

You cannot dye your hair a lighter colour,not without bleaching it to some extent first.

Stop wasting your money on shop hair dye's that clearly don't work!..Go to a professional hairdresser..worth it in the long run!

If you don't have much money - and trust me hairdressers are expensive - go to a 'hairdressing school', just google them in your area. Most top salons have 'schools' where they train their stylists and colourists for a fraction of the price, on the general public. I know Headmasters do and Vidal Sassoon. All the stylists are watched by professionals through the whole procedure so don't worry. It may take longer than usual as they are learning, but it will be much much cheaper and you will get a good colour, professionally done.
