Banned? I haven't asked this before Doc.

I keep trying but my tongue gets in the way and I choke. lol
No.

Because many of the muscles involved in swallowing are attached to the jaw bone and if this is to remain open, then these muscles will not close of the larynx which is a necessary step to normal swallowing.
Then how come I can sqad? Is my gag reflex superior?

It can be done, but it needs practise to overcome the built-in safeguards that prevent choking.

If you remember the early days of package holidays in Spain, where British tourists routinely tried the concumption of wine from the pointed carrafe (I'm sure there is a name for it) which has to be moved away from the mouth until at arms length, while swallowing a steady stream of wine.

Cue demo from waiter, making it look really easy, followed by drunken British tourist attempting same, and undergoing a wine-and-tee-shirt interface with a choking noise soundtrack, followed by laughter from the assembled masses.

Entertainment was nice and simple back then ...
I too have just managed to swallow my saliva back down. I must look an idiot trying to do this sat on my work comp
