How do you get rid of your muffin top?!
I looked up the weight for my height and i am about right.. just in the category overweight but i don't mind losing a bit more weight. i eat realtively healthy and gym at least 3 times a week (probably about 5 or 6 days a week on holidays usually) but i just can't shift this band of fat around my tummy! i'm happy with my legs they are pretty long so that's good it's just my tummy.. i don't get it if i am pretty much the right weight? how do i get rid of it it's annoying me soooooo much lately! at the moment i'm about a size 12 though it varies, i would ideally like to be a size 10 (maybe size 8 but it might be too skinny!)
anyone tried the special k diet? does it work? sounds what i need - drop a dress size in 2 weeks or whatever it is!

think you'll find i don't wear a size too small.. thanks for that! my sister's always nagging me that i'm getting a size too big and i also get annoyed when people don't wear the right size (i know i do it but in my case too big apparently, not too small).
i understand children are too obsessed with their appearance nowadays and i know where your coming from but trust me if you knew me, i'm nowhere near that stage of obsessed! most of the questions i ask are just about what to wear with something.. where i can buy a particular iteam etc.. not harmful i don't think?! hahaha. fair enough when your 12 or something but when you grow up obviously you become more noticable of your body etc.. i bet you do too, boo!

Back to your size issue- please stop fretting 'bout it. You sound perfectly normal, and above all, healthy, don't bother dieting.

Sophie... so long as you are sensible....a combination of toning exercises and lower carb intake will help also check your posture you may have a tendency to shrink rather than stand tall and straight....seems almost universal these days not a slouch just a sort of 'closed' way of standing you may find they almost disappear

Dont cut out all carbs, natural carbs found in fruit and veg are essential for your energy stores which will enable you to excercise more efficiently. Its saturated fat that is the enemy as it doest convert into energy but stores in fat deposists such as the "muffin top" area. I have done a bit of PT and been involved with the gym for years and it is the no.1 problem area for women. Sustained, regular excercise and a good diet including meat, fish, veg, salad, rice, fruit etc... But it may take years depending on your metabolism and physical make-up which will differ from person to person. In terms of excercise. Try 45mins of cardio daily, or at least 4 days a week. Alternate between running, swimming, rowing, cross-trainer, cycling and remember a good stretch before and after training. Light weights with high reps will tone, heavier weights will increase muscle mass and make you heavier on the scales! Sit ups and crunches daily, you will be able to do more and more as time goes on. Also squats and side crunches are great for toning the stomach and waist area.
