Lazygun/ Rasman are quite correct...there have never been any properly conducted trials to show any link between handwriting and personality....that is fact..NOW.
We wait to see if it remains fact in the future, but we can only state the facts as produced today.
<<<<"On the other hand, in properly controlled, blind studies, where the handwriting samples contain no content that could provide non-graphological information upon which to base a prediction (e.g., a piece copied from a magazine), graphologists do no better than chance at predicting the personality traits"<<<<
Thinking about it my handwriting is similar to my mum's and my brother's to my dads.
When I slope, I slope to the right Lottie :) I've love to be able to do lovely caligraphy an old fashioned writing, think it looks lovely, especially for arts and crafts like cards and labels.
Hi Jenna!! I should have guessed yours would slope to the right. We were taught caligraphy at school and had to use a special pen. I can remember quite a lot of it. My father had amazing handwriting (but we all sloped to the right). My mum use to say t hat she didn't trust people who had backward sloping writing!!
There are far, far better ways of assessing personality than making unscientific judgements based on a motor activity like handwriting, which is almost infinitely variable. I would refer you to eg: 'Know your own Personality', by H.J. Eysenck, or 'The Dimensions of Personality' by the same author (1947, Routledge, London).
Graphology can in no way compete with the personality component of an MSc course in Psychology, wherein graphology is not even mentioned.
"do you think you can get an idea of someones personality through their handwriting...? "
I don't believe so. I could write perfectly with both hands but the handwriting differs. Also I could change the 'font' :-) of my writing. None could say which is the true or real one because the all are genuine.
